OCIO Config Working Group Meeting Notes

  • Meeting cadence
    • move to weekly in Oct - yes
    • Moving an hour earlier to account for DST, and moving to Thurs the 13th at 12pm
    • Carol will propose the cadence in the slack channel and make sure we can all be there
  • Final release date:
    • Planning another beta release in the next few days
    • OCIO 2.2 must ship by Oct 31, and that includes the built-in configs
    • Need the final configs ideally by Oct 27th at the very latest, but plan for the 25th as the release to have some buffer
    • Will need to make sure 2 non-Autodesk reviewers (suggest Remi and Michael) are on standby to approve the PRs
  • General status update from Thomas:
    • We merged the ARRI and Canon CLF PRs so I will update the spreadsheet and repo tonight to produce the new configs
    • We now have semi-solid profile version support and can generate a config per-profile
    • I’m working on code to make sure that we do not forget to update the colorspace version (almost ready)
  • Canon's email reply
    • Plan is to not include Canon Log 2, also not planning to include tungsten variant as we're following the csc on aces-dev
    • Zach: canon log 2 is not representable by the CameraLogTransform, might be good to have as a built-in transform whether or not we put it in the config
    • Thomas - would be good to include as an option down the line for the generator so if folks want it they can have it
  • Outstanding items:
    • Create a sheet with outstanding items to make sure we're all on the same page (Carol)
    • Reach out to software manufacturers and let them know about the beta and upcoming release
