Technical Matters
- GPU:
- Dennis published a followon PR to Gary's PR (#140)
- Dennis will add Pierre and Paul Miller to his, Gary add them to his ("revisionfx" and "fxtech")
- Dennis will add a note about private extensions, which should always use vendor prefixes (`com.example`)
- Doc updates: Gary pointed out that there are instructions for building the docs locally in the Documentation folder. Use a python virtualenv.
- PropChoice: Gary to update doc and add to examples
- Color updates:
- The remaining discussion is mostly around what strings should we use for color space names?
- Core: ACEScg, ACEScc, etc.
- Studio config: core + common camera & utility
- Full OCIO: studio + OCIO
- decide on Rohit's suggestion of custom color spaces
- It was pointed out that several other ASWF projects are working on this same topic. We should consult with other projects on a common list of names.
- What about "role" names? -- generic scene linear etc.
- Are those sufficient?
- Dennis will propose an ad-hoc meeting of all the ASWF color people to sync on progress
- Test things out between Mocha & Silhouette
- Rohit would like to engage again after NAB; his main idea was a custom linear color space, but we should not wait for that at this point.
- There was some discussion of the ongoing Slack channel discussion w/ other ASWF projects
- Can we discuss w/ Carol Payne? Doug Walker too?
- Can we use ACES names or do we have to depend on OCIO?
- Alex F is the ACES side person to talk to
- We're already aligned with what the other groups are doing, says J-P
- Question: Does it include log formats? Yes, at least ACEScc and ACEScct\
- LUT generator/No Spatial Awareness: no progress yet, will report next month
- Param interpolation: Pierre has ideas, but nothing formal yet. He and Paul will report next month.
- Metadata Suite: in early discussions, but nothing formal, discussion ongoing in Slack. Paul will start a discussion in a new standard change request.
- What about still frames re: clip's source filename?
- Dennis is concerned about complexity: need to keep the first version simple, then see what additional needs there are.
- Can we release 1.5 by Siggraph?
- We'll need release notes: Gary will do that
- promotion: ASWF, and where else?
- Case study with host & plugin? This would be good for a speaking arrangement
- could use blurbs from hosts: GPU support, etc. -- especially which hosts are supporting the new features
- Can we get color in? J-P thinks we can, if we can get to consensus.
- Another reason to do an announcement is that it helps us to invite others (e.g. for metadata)
Organizational Matters
- None
