Meeting called to order at 11:02am EST.

Technical Matters

• Who's going to NAB? Gary, J-P, Pierre. We will meet about color, try to nail down the last bits.
• Alexandre will be at SIGGRAPH, where we'll launch OpenFX 1.5.
• Alexandre would like to attend the NAB color meeting, along w/ Dennis – set up a zoom call
• What's outstanding for 1.5 (SIGGRAPH: July 28, 2024), other than Color?
  • Metadata suite - Paul will try to get this done
• J-P will ping the Rust API developer on Slack, to see if he'd like to participate or open-source his code as part of our project
• Get Foundry people in this group – Pierre says someone from The Foundry should be at NAB; let's see if we can get some interest.
• Byte params: Paul will implement in his host, update example, and then we can integrate it – we should be able to get this into 1.5.
• Color discussion:
  • J-P: went to color interop meeting. They're going to focus on MaterialX, which only wants a few basic spaces. But their timeline is going to be very long, so we can't count on them. We should just move forward.
  • Dennis: we can come up with our own string names, but then when they (ASWF color interop) standardize we can add that as a layer. MaterialX list is pretty short, but no log spaces.
  • What's left to do? J-P will regenerate the strings, for each space we'll choose the preferred name, and implement.
  • J-P will update cspace defs
  • J-P will split up headers into short "essential" list and the longer list
  • Host implementation: Silhouette (Paul) has most of it already, but not negotiation
    • For this, we probably need two hosts. Phil can do something in Baselight.
  • Plugin: update an example, and Pierre should be able to something simple like always request scene-linear.

Organizational Matters

• LFX has a new analytics tool for tracking github stats (contributors, views, stars etc.): https://insights.lfx.linuxfoundation.org/foundation/aswf/overview?project=openfx&repository=all
• There was some discussion about our ASWF incubation status. Is there any problem with us staying in incubation for a long time? There are some hurdles we'd have to overcome to be a full ASWF project.
