Minutes
Meeting called to order at 11am EDT
Organizational Matters
- Website update:
- Should be ready for review by EOD today https://openfx.dev-lfprojects3.linuxfoundation.org/
- Still need to complete the bottom part but that should be ready within the next few hours.
- Top menu links don't work yet
- Please take a look. Substantive comments only though please (incorrect or missing info etc.). I want to get this launched; we can always improve later. If you have higher res logos please submit them to me ASAP. (Could someone contact BMD?) Also Foundry?
- Maybe these should be links
- Gary has reached out to all recent contributors to see if anyone wants to get more involved -- nothing so far
- Recap of Open Source Days Town Hall (went OK; 15 people or so, some new faces, maybe curious) – presentation was perceived as good
- CI and Conancenter: _please review_ so I can merge this! Then I can start on a conancenter upload and we can discuss making this 1.5.
- Ticket triage and code review: please dig in and help here.
Technical Matters
- Discussion of color, led by J-P
- Pierre said Resolve would create something to list CIE observer space and white point - he will reach out to them
- J-P says Resolve would prefer a custom mode: linear with primaries & white points, they're going to submit a proposal. J-P will ping them.
- Pierre mentioned that ACES cg config is of interest to MaterialX folks even though it's very limited (no broadcast HDR) -- scene linear and a few others
- Flame folks: what's your interest in this?
- Flame does not use OCIO (v2 is on their radar though)
- If there is a colorspace extension that's easy for them, they would be willing to investigate
- GPU: Alexandre is working on using GPU extension with Metal buffers and textures in Red Giant
- They would prefer textures
- Greg Cotten was here listening & learning, writing plugins
- Wishes cross-host support would be easier, e.g. GPU extensions with 1.5
- Resolve is their biggest host, then Baselight, but Baselight is a very complicated host because it creates & deletes plugin instances
- J-P mentioned the idea of a compute cache -- data blobs referenced by string
- Pierre mentioned the idea of a "general suite" that plugins could create and hosts would manage
