Technical Matters

• Abigail Brady introduction: engineer working on Houdini at SideFX. Was at The Foundry working on OpenFX there too.
• 1.5 release prep for SIGGRAPH:
  • please send imagery and quotes for press release
  • need to get all commits in and reviewed ASAP
  • Release notes and PR need to be finalized by JULY 10, everyone please send something. SIGGRAPH is July 28.
  • Features:
    • Color management
    • OfxSetHost
    • DrawSuite
    • GPU: OpenCL, CUDA, Metal support
    • Choice params (strings & order)
    • Binary data
    • Windows ARM64

  • UPDATE: "basic" color management style, roles only, API just has simple generic colorspace names e.g. OFX_SDR
  • how to negotiate output color space? Plugin gets to choose, but need a new action for that. getClipPreferences is now extended, and added a new action for plugin to set output colorspace. Phil to review.
  • Distinction between scene and display-referenced spaces
  • recent updates: use simple color spaces rather than roles, non-OCIO, just want linear/log/TV
  • TODO update example -- use new simple method, exercise output colorspace. Test vs. Phil's Filmlight
  • TODO review docs: needs a descriptive doc in the programming guide (J-P will write it, but I should figure out where to put it)
  • Need to test with OCIO plugin and host (Paul: Silhouette, Mocha will test on plugin side -- maybe Sapphire too?)
• TODO implement #159 (deprecate a param) & list in rel notes
