Technical Matters
Clip & Image metadata; Param interp types: As Paul was absent, there was no update on this project.
Arm64: As Gary was absent, there was no update on this project.
Open PRs:
#178 Update colourspace example for more complete coverage
Guido has reviewed Phil’s revisions to the example plug-in and thought they were very helpful. He has built the PR locally and used it to improve his own implementation of the colour management extension.
The CI builds are currently failing due to an unrelated issue. Hopefully Gary can look into that once he’s back.
Open Issues:
This looks like an issue in the host support library. Pierre will follow up for clarification. All agreed that the host support library needs some attention.
Alexandre from Maxon mentioned that a colleague is working on colour management, and will ask them to join our next meeting.
There was some discussion of graphics APIs as Alexandre uses these in his plug-ins, specifically for graphics not compute. He wasn’t aware of the OpenGL API, but has been using Metal with certain hosts. Unfortunately several important hosts don’t implement the OpenGL API which limits its usefulness.
Dennis mentioned that they have a Vulkan extension internally which needs to be cleaned up before it can be contributed to the standard. He will share more details in future and perhaps we can get comments from other Vulkan users such as Autodesk.
J-P and Pierre discussed DrawSuite support in the Nuke 16 public beta. This seems to be working, and Nuke has updated to the OFX 1.5 headers. It’s unclear if they have implemented any of the other new features.
