OCIO Configs Working Group Meeting Notes

• SIGGRAPH / OSD planning

  • Virtual town hall scheduled for Weds Aug 2 @ 8am PT. Will be recorded. 

  • Carol will work with Thomas to handle slides for the config section, Thomas will not be at siggraph

• What’s left for release?

  • Release spreadsheet 

    • Please add thoughts if anyone has them

  • Display P3 texture/colorspace for display

    • Thomas put a PR into ACES dev for Display P3 as an official OT

    • Kevin will check in with Scott on timing for merge of the aces-dev PR

      • Will ask for a merge and a tag (unofficial) to be able to pull from ACES dev

    • Next, we need a built-in for OCIO (specifically a display space), and then we can add it to the configs

    • Doug - it could just be a display colorspace in the short-term to avoid another dependency, but will add it built-in regardless

  • AMF IDs

    • Kevin: two things - either we have another variant “kitchen sink” version, or we add them but “hide” them, or we don’t do anything and ignore it

    • Doug: vote to add the IDs that we can, and see how it goes

    • Carol: we should wait to implement major support for new transforms until after ACES 2.0, because we want to advocate for some deprecations

    • Would be good if we can add multiple IDs for the inverses

    • Thomas - should be possible. Just need to decide on formatting

      • Kevin: votes on one per line, could break something if we do comma separated, etc

      • Doug - this is how the prototype AMF config is set up as well

    • Will add another column for extra AMF ids, for multiple make them comma separated in the add’l column

  • Sony/Canon IDTs

    • OCIO library built-ins are done, should be easy to add to the configs

  • Swapped Paint roles - carol will make an issue for posterity
