OCIO Configs Working Group Meeting Notes
Caching & Cache IDs
Remi has a PR for changing the hash library to xxhash
Kevin: how do we validate that the internal one is an exact replica of a config on disk
Thomas: using the git hash right now for the config generation.
Doug: updating OCIO check to print the config cache ID.
Need a functional way to compare, not an overall config hash of the yaml which would change if say, a comment changed.
With a full cache ID check, we could create our own regression checks which could be used for versioning
Is a binary check enough, though?
Next steps:
Documentation to follow up the config releases - what they are, how to modify them, things to look out for
Open Source Days
What do we want to release at Open Source Days?
Want to release versions of all of them, with the emphasis that
Full versions or betas?
It's in a pretty good place code wise except for the spreadsheet - need the mappings for the Studio config
Need to re-do naming for the CG config with new guidelines (i.e. family not in colorspace name)
Carol to ping camera vendors (Panasonic, Sony, Canon) and if we don't hear back before next config WG meeting, we will make the CLFs/PRs ourselves for release
Spreadsheet working session:
Some columns are placeholders - categories are currently families, etc
Need to have a proper family column
Update aliases (currently legacy) if needed
Needs to match the CG spreadsheet as much as possible - Thomas will take a first pass by end of this week
ToDos:
Carol to follow up with Camera vendors
Doug to create Blackmagic PR and update RED path structure
Thomas to modify CG config spreadsheet with new proposed naming structure and regenerate for review
Thomas to take a first pass at organizing studio config spreadsheet and Doug, Carol, rest of config WG to review and fill in where needed
