OCIO Configs Working Group Meeting Notes

• Arri Discussion:

  • Joseph is reviewing the work of the group, ARRI is working on the CLF IDTs for both LogCv3 and the new camera colorspace, we will continue specific conversations offline

• Thomas and Michael PRs

  • Mostly ready to merge, Michael making a few last updates

• RED & Blackmagic:

  • Doug will create a PR with the CLF IDTs once Michael's PRs are merged

• Panasonic, Sony, Canon:

  • Carol will reach back out and check in on status and next steps

• Github Admin Perms

  • We have them now!

  • Looking at changing the branch names to main after these rounds of PRs get merged

• Studio Config Spreadsheet

  • Which flavors to include:  (full, linear, curve)

  • Not all cameras have all options

  • Camera curves should be NamedTransforms

  • Joseph: please stay away from the words "native primaries" and use "encoding primaries" instead

  • We should try to be consistent and include curves for all cameras

  • Aliases

    • We should have a way to generate the config with "legacy" aliases from v1 configs

    • Joseph will work with Sean to standardize on "arri" vs "alexa" in naming

    • Do we also want to include colorspaces whose names have changes as aliases?

    • We should probably take the opportunity to programmatically generate these aliases for future-proofing and consistency

    • Thomas will take a look at a way to do that for the next meeting

  • Do we need a cineon colorspace/curve?

  • Do we need HLG?

  • Do we need the Adobe spaces?

  • Will post the spreadsheet on Slack with questions for the group to go through in the sheet before the next meeting
